Volkswagen introduced a redesigned 2016 Volkswagen Touran at the Geneva Motor Show. This multipurpose medium-sized compact vehicle was first launched in 2003, followed by new generation models in 2012 and 2015. The new model is expected to go on sale this September in Europe.
Exterior and Interior Design
As you can see from the photos, the 2016 Volkswagen Touran has resemblances with the outgoing model, but this new version comes with some improved features and slight changes in its materials. The automaker used state of the art technologies, with the latest MQB platform and with the redesigned interior features, they plan to amaze their fans. There are scheduled alterations as well as changes in the exterior to make it compatible with a modern day multipurpose car. When compared to the earlier model, the new Touran is 220 lbs (100 kg) lighter, thanks to the newest MQB platform.
The changes in the exterior start from the front, the grille and the headlights are redesigned. The hood and the bumpers will also be transformed to have a more modern look. The boxy shape of the vehicle will be inherited, but with a few adjustments, like sharper lines to generate a more stylish design. The extended wheelbase will give a more comfortable cabin, with more legroom for back seat passengers, and more room in the trunk. The new R Line package will add unique bumpers and other exterior features.
As far as the interior goes, the 2016 Volkswagen Touran is offering enough interior space for up to seven people and their luggage, and without sacrificing the slightest bit of comfort. It is going to have some improvements in the equipment, featuring trouble-free folding seats, allowing the passenger to adjust to a desirable seating position. Just similar to its exterior, the interior of the new vehicle will be more comfortable and highly attractive with a lot of available solutions when it comes to the infotainment system. Software updates are also expected, as well as some new functions to provide you safer driving. The new model will come with all the gadgets that nearly all modern vehicles of its class have, to create a safe and pleasant driving experience.
