Latest rumors claim that the 2016 Jaguar XE SVR will be offered with a powerful 5.0L V-8 engine. It’ll go on sale sometime in 2016, after its debut in 2015.

2016 Jaguar XE SVR Performance

The latest rumor is that the more powerful SVR version of the upcoming 2016 Jaguar XE sedan will also be offered, and it is currently under production of Jaguar’s new Special Vehicle Operations division. The 2016 Jaguar XE SVR is going to be powered by a 5.0-liter V-8 powertrain that will, reportedly, deliver up to 489 horsepower (364 kW) and 460 pound-feet (624 Nm) of torque.

To reach the speed of 60 mph, this sports sedan will be able to achieve in about 4 seconds. Its top speed is expected to be 155 mph (250 km/h), and will be electronically limited.

As for the transmission option, this engine will be paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox with faster shifts, for better performance. Of course, there will be more updates, such as the new brakes, lower suspension, better traction control, etc.

Above, you can see a rendering photo of the upcoming model. The 2016 Jaguar XE SVR does look almost identical to the regular model, shown in the teaser photo below. However, the latest reports suggest that the SVR will come with the new LED headlights, different front grille and bumper, with large air intakes below the headlights.

You can also notice in the rendering photo, which is based on some spy shots, that this new model will also have side skirts on each side, and sport alloy wheels wrapped in performance tires. Rear bumper and integrated diffuser are also expected to be revised, with addition of the quad exhaust tailpipes.

Release Date and Price

The 2016 Jaguar XE SVR will be hitting the international showrooms in early 2016. The base XE model is expected to go on sale one year earlier, after making its debut this September. Its estimated price tag in the United Kingdom will be about £60,000. That is about $100,000.

With this new sports sedan, Jaguar wants to compete against the powerful models of the other manufacturers, such as the Audi A4, Cadillac ATS-V, BMW 3-Series, or Mercedes C-Class.
