2016 Shelby GT350 Release Date, Price
According to a source that we’ve stumbled upon, the new 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 will be released in 2015 and its expected starting price will be about $50,000. Given that the 2015 Ford Mustang GT 50 Year Limited Edition (the most expensive model) is priced at $46,995, the price tag of $50k for this Shelby model is more than acceptable. The car will be unveiled to the public on November 17, 2014.
2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Design
The 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 will replace the GT500 as a top-tier model. It is gonna be built on the S550 platform. The spy shots of the prototype model rode on the 19-inch wheels wrapped in summer performance tires by Michelin. It is expected that this Shelby will share the similar design with the 2015 Mustang GT model, but with some differences, such as familiar stripes over the roof and hood, center hood vent, different front grille, air outlets behind the front wheels, and new side skirts. The rear end will be pretty much the same, with the revised exhaust system. On these artist’s rendering photos you can see hot it might actually look like.
Engine, Specs, Performance
These are just speculations, but it looks like the 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 won’t have the same engine as the GT500. It will be powered by an upgraded 5.0L Coyote V-8 engine that will reportedly be able to deliver more than 550 horsepower. Torque output figure was not given. This unit is expected to be paired with a manual transmission. It will also feature stiffer sport suspension. Expectations for this model are high, and it is even said that its performance might surpass the old Boss 302. Some of the potential competitors to this model are the 2015 Dodge Charger, 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, and 2015 Pontiac Trans Am.
