The 2016 Ford F-750 Tonka dump truck will be one of the models in the new F-650/F-750 lineup of trucks. It made a debut at the 2015 NTEA Work Truck Show. The truck looks like someone took one of the popular Hasbro toys and increased its size by some science fiction device, and that’s not a bad thing at all. Feel free to check it out by yourself.
Tonka Exterior and Interior Design
As you can see from the photos, the 2016 Ford F-750 Tonka dump truck is generally huge, it has nearly 10 ft in height. Just like all Tonka models, it is mostly painted in bright yellow, combined with black elements. It has a massive front grille and a three-piece bumper, surrounded by rugged headlights. The hood and fenders are connected, so the whole assembly must be raised forward if somebody wants to access the engine. The truck also has big 10-lug wheels also painted in yellow, to match the body color.
Unfortunately, Ford didn’t provide any interior photos of the 2016 Ford F-750 Tonka duty truck. However, it most likely looks similar to other interiors in the Super Duty lineup, and given that the truck is intended to carry garbage, don’t expect any fancy stuff nor modern gadgets inside the cabin. The truck will be available in three configurations, and those are Regular Cab, Super Cab and Crew Cab, all coming with a choice of several different frames.
Engine, Performance, Specs
What is powering this 2016 Ford F-750 Tonka dump truck is a 6.8L V-10 petrol engine which can produce 320 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The good thing is that this unit can be modified to run on CNG or liquid propane. If you prefer diesel over gasoline, there are three variants of the 6.7L V-8 TDI Power Stroke engine. The first one is rated at 270 hp and 675 lb-ft of torque, the second choice can deliver 300 hp and 700 lb-ft, while the most powerful unit can produce up to 330 horses and 725 pound-feet of twist. All engines can be paired with the TorqShift 6-speed automatic gearbox.
