The 2015 Renault Twingo is a third generation model that will make its debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. It is based on the both Twin’Z and Twin’Run Concept models.
Design of 2015 Renault Twingo
As you can see in the picture below, this small city vehicle will be available in four body color options. Customers will be able to choose between yellow, red, light blue and white models, each with different stripes.
As I mentioned above, the new 2015 Renault Twingo is based on the two 2013 Concept models. It borrowed its front and rear-end design from the 2013 Twin’Run Concept, while the 2013 Twin’Z inspired its five-door layout.
This car is designed for less demanding users, young people and women. It is very maneuverable and quite good for city driving, and you can easily park it in tight spaces, due to its small size. Of course, it will be good for short trips, too.
On the front, there are large round headlights, topped by the turn signals. Below the headlights are LED daytime running lights that are positioned closer to the center. In the center there’s a small mesh grille with Renault emblem on it. At the bottom there is an air intake with two small fog lights.
At first glance it may seem to you that there are no door handles on the rear doors. They are concealed next to the rear side windows. You can customize your vehicle as you like. You can choose between several side mirrors and protective mouldings to match the decals that pass over the doors.
In the pictures you can see that some models have a sunroof. I assume it is not standard equipment and you can choose it optionally. The rear end is flat, there is a tailgate-mounted rear-spoiler and the taillights are a prolongation of the trunk door. All this makes the Twingo look like a little racing car.
It is not revealed how the interior of the new 2015 Renault Twingo will look like. However, in a couple of pictures posted here we can see more or less what we can expect.
In the picture below we can see that there is only one headrest on the left side of the rear seat, which means that the second one is on the right side, while in the middle there is no headrest. This means that the rear can accommodate only two adults, and that this small model will have enough room for only four people. However, I assume that the rear has enough room for three small children.
The only thing I know for sure is that the cabin will be significantly expanded, due to the rear-mounted engine, and that all passengers will be able to enjoy a relaxed city driving and short trips.
So far, there are no details what kind of equipment and technology this small city car will have. All interior details will be unveiled on March 4 in Geneva.
Engine and Performance
The French manufacturer has yet to reveal the details on the engine and performance of the 2015 Renault Twingo at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
According to some sources, the car will feature the both petrol and diesel 1.2-liter 3-cylinder engine that will be positioned at the rear, which is a good thing because it frees up plenty of space in the cabin. The engine will bring the power to the rear wheels via either manual or dual-clutch auto transmission.
In the end, you can see all the available pictures of the 2015 Renault Twingo below, which Renault recently posted online.
