The 2015 Nissan Murano will be unveiled at the upcoming 2014 New York Auto Show. This crossover vehicle really needed refreshment. Here are some details.
Design of 2015 Nissan Murano
The automaker announced on their website that the new Murano will make debut on April 16. They posted just one teaser photo that shows a headlight (small thumbnail at the beginning of this article). I’ve managed to collect some more teaser photos that you can see in the gallery at the end.
Also, we can see how the 2015 Nissan Murano will approximately look like thanks to these spy shots taken during its test drive (images below).
The upcoming mid-size crossover will be based on the D platform, used in the Altima and Pathfinder models. It could also borrow some design details from the Resonance Concept, that features an aerodynamic V-themed styling.
According to the manufacturer, the interior will also be redesigned to be more modern and will include high technology and premium materials. I hope that Nissan will also add their new Smart Rearview Mirror technology that made debut in Geneva. There will be a lot of space in the cabin for passengers to enjoy a comfortable ride.
Possible Engine Options
As for the engine, the rumor is that the standard 2015 Nissan Murano model will come with a V-6 gasoline engine that will be mated to a Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT).
There is also a possibility that automaker will launch a hybrid version that will combine an electric motor with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. This hybrid will probably be based on the Nissan Resonance Concept model.
The new Murano is ready to be shown at the Auto Show in New York on April 16. The production model should appear in retail stores this fall.
Sorry for the bad quality of the photos posted below, but you can see certain parts of the new 2015 Nissan Murano. I also added two photos of the Resonance Concept, that will allow you to see the possible design of the upcoming model.
For the end, watch this short teaser video. Photos above were taken directly from this video. That’s the reason they are so blurred. :D
