The 2015 Nissan Maxima is based on the Sport Sedan Concept that was unveiled at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. It has a refreshed, luxurious design and serves well as a household vehicle. This new model will definitely impress a lot of customers with its new exterior look, as well as stir up the Sedan market.

Design of 2015 Nissan Maxima

An aggressive grille blends well with the chrome bar graphic on the corporate V shape. The fantastic design of the 2014 Nissan Sport Sedan Concept spills over to the neckline and linking bonnet. Air intakes have alloy frames. The entire exterior design of the new 2015 Nissan Maxima will change as a result of the highly pronounced fender flares and LED headlights. Roof design is similar to the Mini’s drifting design. A tiny wrap cup dissects the top roofline, making use of the house windows to link the back display.

Nissan clearly upgraded the interior design of this new Maxima model. An angular dashboard equipped with new controls will make it easier for the driver to access the controls. It is evident this new model takes up a youthful, sport and conspicuous design concept. Visible brake discs and 21-inch wheels define the superiority of this model. The idea behind the 2015 Nissan Maxima was to have all installed features take a somewhat futuristic approach. Natural leather has been used in the lining blending perfectly with the light blue embroidery. A modernized interior characterizes this vehicle. All featured controls are user friendly in addition to the entertainment system being hi-tech and of high quality.

In the photo below you can see the interior of the Sport Sedan Concept. It looks a bit futuristic. Although we expect that the production model will have a modern interior, we believe it would be more realistic, and not this futuristic.

Engine, Specs, Performance

When it comes to the performance, the new 2015 Nissan Maxima will presumably be powered by a 3.5-liter engine with six cylinders (V-6, found in the 2014 Nissan Sport Sedan Concept) that will deliver at least 320 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. The expected EPA fuel economy rating is 26 mpg on the highway, 21 mpg in the city, and 24 mpg combined. A manual, CVT or automatic transmission will be paired to this engine. The VVT system will help reduce the fuel consumption of this model, making it better than the previous models.

All the included features add to the improved performance of the new Maxima. Just for comparison, the Sport Sedan Concept is able to accelerate to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds; 150 mph is the top speed. Aggressive aero mechanisms are some of the added features. These performance improvements will definitely affect the overall design of the upcoming model.
