The 2015 McLaren 625C is an Asian-only variant of the 650S supercar. It looks pretty much the same, but has a little bit less of power compared to the 650S.

2015 McLaren 625C Design

front view

As you can see from the photos, the 2015 McLaren 625C resembles the 650S model, which made a debut at the Geneva Motor Show, and went on sale earlier this year, but also taking some design cues from the MP4-12C.

The front end also has curved lights that extends into the large air intakes. The side air intakes, behind the doors, are a little bit different, but still helps cooling the rear-mounted engine. The rear end has an aggressive rear diffuser, a pair of flat exhaust tips, rear wing spoiler, and really tiny LED taillights.

Inside, the 2015 McLaren 625C is also quite similar to its predecessor. Its racing seats and most of the interior are covered in carbon-fiber materials. It also comes with some modern technology, including Bluetooth connectivity, satellite radio, rearview camera, color screen and GPS navigation.

Engine and Performance

The 2015 McLaren 625C supercar is powered by a 3.8L V-8 twin turbo engine, producing up to 616 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 7-speed SSG transmission, thus power unit allows the car to accelerate to 62 miles/hour (100 km/h) in 3.1 seconds, 124 mph in 8.8 seconds, and 186 mph in 26.7 seconds. The Coupe’s top speed is 207 miles per hour (333 km/h), while the Spider’s maximum is 204 mph (329 km/h).

As for the fuel economy, it is basically the same as with the 650S model. It means that this new model consumes 11.7 liters of fuel per 100 km. It emits only 275 grams of CO2 gases per kilometer.

2015 McLaren 625C and 650S

Release Date and Price

Like I already mentioned, the 2015 McLaren 625C is intended only for the Asian Pacific market. It will first go on sale in Hong Kong and China, and soon after that in other Asian markets. No release date has been specified, but my guess is that this supercar will be available in early 2015. It won’t be available in Europe and U.S.

Both Coupe and Spider models with be available from the start, however, the pricing of these two models are not announced. Just for comparison, the 650S Coupe is priced at $265,500, while the 650S Spider costs $280,225. I think the 625C will be more affordable.
