The 2015 Ford F-150 is based on the Ford Atlas concept model revealed last year and its external appearance brings some novelties.

One interesting thing is that designers used aluminium materials to construct the vehicle’s body to reduce its weight up to 700 pounds. This sure will have a positive impact on its performance and fuel economy.

At the front of the truck, there is a new three-bar grille positioned between LED headlights. Below them, at the bumper section, are LED fog lights, as you can see on the image above.

LED technology is also used for taillights, at the back of the truck. The all-new electronic-operated tailgate features a new rear spoiler and integrated loading ramp intended for easy (un)loading.

Interior Styling and Equipment

Inside, designers used better-quality materials for the dashboard and seats. They’ve implemented accent lighting that gives the interior a futuristic look at night. The cabin is spacious and comfortable, there is enough room for five adult passengers.

As for the accessory, the 2015 Ford F-150 will have a 360-degree camera system enhanced by Dynamic Hitch Assist, blind-spot information system, and lane-keeping control, that will assist the driver during parking and maneuvering.

On the centered console there is a big 8-inch LCD display that shows all information about the truck, such as towing and fuel economy. To control the display and navigate through menus, driver can use the controls on the steering wheel.

Other features include SYNC, MyFord Touch, cruise control, cup holders, huge panoramic moonroof, rear under-seat storage, and two 110-volt power outlets.

Engine Range and Performance

Potential buyers of the 2015 Ford F-150 truck will be able to choose between four different engines:
– standard 3.5-liter 6-cylinder naturally-aspirated V-6 Ti-VCT FFV powertrain;
– improved 5.0-liter 8-cylinder naturally-aspirated V-8 FFV powertrain;
– twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine with improved fuel efficiency, producing 283 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque;
– all-new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine connected to an Auto Start-Stop system (specification figures below).

Lets say something about this new 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine, the first of a kind in this pickup truck segment, that can produce up to 325 hp and 375 lb-ft of torque. It will feature the tuned Auto Start-Stop that won’t activate when the 2015 Ford F-150 is in tow mode or four-wheel mode. When driver stops the truck, this system will shut down the engine, and as soon as driver release the brake, the Auto Start-Stop system will restart the engine instantly. This power engine will sure be the great choice if you are looking for a pickup truck with improved fuel economy.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any specific details how many horsepower these engines will be able to develop.
