The revised 2015 Chrysler 200 was unveiled at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, and it will serve as a template for all future models. We know that this model will go on sale this spring with starting price of $21,700. Lets say something about its new design and performance improvements.
Design of 2015 Chrysler 200
The 2015 Chrysler 200 will be a completely refreshed. At the front of this mid-size sedan, as you can see on the image above, is a new front grille between the not-so-cool headlights with daytime running lamps. Slightly below there are LED fog lamps.
The car will come with a 19-inch Hyper Black aluminum wheels as an option, and on the rear there are much cooler LED taillights, dual exhaust pipes, and a new company’s badge.
Now, lets say something about the interior of the new 2015 Chrysler 200 sedan. Designers have used high-quality materials for seats and dashboard. The car doesn’t have a standard stick shifter, instead there is a rotating rotary shift knob in the centered area. Below it is a cup holder and above are some control buttons and switches.
The dashboard features a reconfigurable 7-inch TFT instrument cluster that shows useful info about car’s speed, fuel economy, time and date, temperature, it has a built-in compass and GPS navigation.
Also, there is a big 8.4-inch touchscreen display with a Uconnect system that will bring you the latest news, 9-speaker audio system with subwoofer, HD radio, Bluetooth connectivity, rearview mirror with microphone, rearview camera, climate control, heated front seats, and other optional features.
New Chrysler 200 Engine and Performance
The base model will be powered by a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder Tigershark inline-4 engine that will be able to develop 184 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque. Second choice includes a new 3.6-liter 6-cylinder Pentastar V-6 powertrain that will develop 295 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Both engines will be mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
This mid-size sedan will most certainly be front-wheel drive. However, potential customers can also choose an all-wheel-drive system that permits the car to behave like a front wheel-drive automobile until the wheels begin slipping, taking full advantage of fuel economy while doing so. We think this is a nice feature.
Optionally, driver can activate an all-new “Sport” mode that will make driver feel like driving a real sports car. This mode ajducts steering speed, throttle response and moving points of the vehicle.
Release Date and Price
The 2015 Chrysler 200 will be offered in several different trim levels, XL, Limited, S and C trim. The starting price will be about $21,700 bucks plus a $995 destination fee. It could go up to $35,000, depending of a trim level and optional equipment.
