The 2015 Bentley Grand Convertible Concept is a luxury open top model, based on the new Mulsanne Speed. It was unveiled at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Engine and Performance
Just like its sedan sibling, the 2015 Bentley Grand Convertible Concept is powered by an upgraded 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine which can produce 530 horsepower and a total of 811 lb-ft of torque. That’s just amazing. Expect about 4 seconds of 0-60 mph time and a top speed of 190 miles per hour. The automaker did not reveal any details regarding its fuel economy.
2015 Bentley Grand Convertible Concept Design
The 2015 Bentley Grand Convertible Concept looks almost identical to the Mulsanne Speed, of course, without the top and rear doors. From the front both vehicles share the same grille design, the bumper and headlights are also identical. However, there are no fog lamps on this concept. There are no photos of the rear end, but according to some sources, it is also similar to the one found on the Mulsanne. The concept model is painted in Sequin Blue, while the hood and windshield framework are painted in silver. It rides on five-spoke wheels.
As you can see in the photo below, the 2015 Bentley Grand Convertible Concept has a luxurious interior colored in light hues, contrasted with blue trims and stitching. All seats are wrapped in tanned high-quality leather. Both the seats and doors are characterized by a diamond layout. The automaker used Burr Walnut wood for both the rear deck and dashboard. You will notice the lack of a touchscreen and infotainment system. There are some analog gauges and a bunch of controls in the center area of the dashboard. Behind the multifunction steering wheel there are analog speedometer and tachometer. The whole cabin looks quite elegant.
Release Date and Price
The open top concept based on the 2015 Bentley Mulsanne Speed model made its debut at the 2014 LA Auto Show. It will also be showcased at the Art Basel in Miami this December.
The production model is expected to be released next year and it is said that this convertible limousine will be the most expensive Mulsanne ever. The exact price was not revealed, given that this is just a concept model, but its price tag could easily be more than $340 thousand dollars.
