2014 Volkswagen Scirocco R Specs

engine

I assume that you are most interested in the performance of this car, so I will first say something about the engine. The 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco R is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 engine that can develop 276 horsepower. I have no data on the torque.

The power is delivered to the all wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission and a Haldex AWD system. There is also an optional choice of a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

According to the manufacturer, this model is able to reach speeds of 62 mph (~100 km/h) from the point of rest in only 6.5 seconds. Its estimated maximum speed is 155 mph (~250 km/h).

This model consumes 8.0 liters per 100 kilometers, it is rated at 29 mpg combined. It is also worth mentioning that the car emits 187 g/km of CO2 gases.

Exterior Design

2014 Volkswagen Scirocco R

The 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco R looks more aggressive than the regular model, especially on the front. It has a powerful Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lamps positioned on the front bumper. Between the lights is a small radiator grille with “R” badge, and on the bumper there is a large three-part air intake, added to lower wind resistance.

On the back, there is a large rear spoiler positioned above the rear window. There is also a specific rear bumper, with two exhaust tips and two air outlets on the each side, and integrated black diffuser. All that, in combination with the dark tinted LED taillights give this model a sporty look.

It rides on the standard 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in 235/35 R19 tires. There is also a choice of the optional Talladega 19-inch alloy wheels.

Interior Styling

The interior of the 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco R received more changes than its exterior. As you can see in the pictures, the cabin is mostly painted in a combination of dark tones.

The first thing you notice are the prominent racing seats with grey stitching and “R” logo on the driver’s and front passenger’s headrests. What is also notable is that the rear seats only allow two people to sit behind, not three.

Behind the multifunction steering wheel wrapped in leather there is an instrument cluster with two analog gauges that have blue needles. Between them is a small display that shows additional info.

On the center console, above the air vents, there are additional three gauges. One is a chronometer, and other two shows engine oil temperature and pressure. Below is a 6.5-inch touchscreen display with a GPS navigation system and a CD player.

Other interior features include stainless steel pedals, electric windows, A/C and climate control, BlueTooth connectivity support, voice control, SD card slot, audio and MP3 playback, optional 300W audio system with 8 speakers, and many more.
