The 2014 Skoda VisionC Concept is one of the many models that will be presented at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. Let’s see what makes this model specific.
2014 Skoda VisionC Exterior Design
As you can see, the 2014 Skoda VisionC Concept has a distinctive grille that characterizes other models of the company. The front looks really aggressive and it features some sharp lines on the hood. What I find attractive are the triangular headlights and fog lights, which only contribute to the aggressive look of the front end.
On the back, the car is also characterized by very interesting lights styling. The taillights are very sharp and look like a boomerang. There is also a pair of stop lights on the rear bumper. While there is no rear spoiler, the tailgate is very prominent and seems like a car has a rear spoiler, when you observe from the side.
The alloy wheels shown on these photos are also very attractive.
Although it has four doors (five if you count the trunk), which means that this should be a sedan model, the automaker likes to call it a four-door coupe. There is an interesting article that explains why some manufacturers prefer to use the term, and explains the difference between a sedan and a coupe. You can read it here.
One of the things that make this car coupe is that there are only 4 seats (2+2 configuration). But Skoda claims that there will be enough room for all passengers, even taller ones, and of course, there will be plenty of space for their luggage and stuff.
There are no any details on the interior styling.
VisionC Concept Engine and Performance
The model that will be on display in Geneva will be powered by a 1.4-liter TSI engine. It will be a bi-fuel engine, meaning that it will run on both CNG and gasoline. This engine is able to develop 110 horsepower and 100 pound-feet of torque, which means that the performance will not be anything special.
However, it is very optimized for better fuel efficiency. For example, if you drive it on natural gas only, the VisionC will consume about 5.1 m3 (3.4 kg) of gas per 100 km.
When it comes to protecting the environment, this model emits just 91 g/km of harmful CO2 emissions.
More details on engine and performance will be found at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
2014 Skoda VisionC Release Date
It is not exactly known whether the 2014 Skoda VisionC Concept will be a brand-new model that Skoda will produce in the near future, or will only serve as an inspiration for other models, such as the future Octavia or Passat. I believe that the first model based on this concept can be expected next year.
Not many photos have been released so far. There is only one sketch of the 2014 Skoda VisionC Concept, and these four photos that you can see below.
