The 2014 Ram Power Wagon will officially make a debut at this year’s New York Auto Show. It will be a direct competitor to the 2015 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor.
2014 Ram Power Wagon Design
As you can see in the photo above, the new 2500 Power Wagon borrows its design from the 2500 4×4 Crew Cab model. It is a four-door pickup truck designed for driving on dirt roads.
It looks great. Take a look at photos, and you will notice the chrome accents on the grille and front bumper. It comes with LED lamps on both rear and front, and some trim levels will also feature halogen projector headlights.
The 2014 Ram Power Wagon rides on 17-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in the large 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires, which are good for off-road terrains. All wheels have steel disc brakes. The towing capacity is about 10,810 lbs.
The truck will be available in three trim levels: Tradesman, SLT and Laramie. Of course, customers will be able to choose among several body colors and custom graphics. Photos posted on this page shows one of the color options, red and black trim with grey graphics on bed and tailgate.
The overall interior design has been improved. It features new soft touch materials and color themes. As you can see on the photo, the central part of the dashboard takes up the 5.0-inch touchscreen.
It comes with installed Uconnect infotainment system that you can use to control various multimedia, GPS navigation, and to connect your smartphone via Bluetooth connection. You can even use your device via voice commands to send and receive calls and SMS messages, and to stream your favorite music. Also included is a WiFi connection powered by Sprint.
The steering wheel also has several buttons. Below it there is a big instrument cluster with several small gauges and bigger speedometer and tachometer. Depending on a trim level, customers will be able to buy their 2014 Ram Power Wagon with either 3.5-inch or 7-inch info screen that will be positioned below the steering wheel.
Other features worth mentioning are automatic climate control, AM/FM radio with six speakers audio system, AUX and USB ports, cruise control, power heated mirrors, airbags in front and both sides, etc.
Engine and Performance
The 2014 Ram Power Wagon pickup truck is powered by the HEMI 6.4-liter 8-cylinder engine (photo below). It can generate a total of 410 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, which transfers power to all four wheels, with the help of the front and rear electronically locking differentials.
The HEMI engine also features technology that will deactivate cylinders under light load conditions in order to save fuel. The pickup truck also comes with an all-new suspension and sway-bar disconnecting system at front, and five-link coil suspension system at rear. All this technology will improve driveability and maneuverability on different kind of terrains and dirty roads.
Release Date and Price
