The new version of the 2014 Porsche Cayman GTS will soon appear on the market. Until then, here are a few spy photos taken during the testing of the prototype model.
Thanks to the photographers of MotorAuthority and TopSpeed, who have taken a few photos during the testing of this model. Thanks to the fact that there is no camouflage, we can see how this sports car will look like. Let’s say something about its appearance.
Design of 2014 Porsche Cayman GTS
As you can see on these photos, the GTS version will come with a redesigned front bumper and new LED running headlights. On the back of the 2014 Porsche Cayman GTS, there are two connected exhaust pipes to the middle of the bumper, and nice-looking LED taillights. The new 20-inch wheels are similar to those of the Carrera S.
We don’t have any photo of the cabin, but we know that the 2014 Porsche Cayman GTS will feature an upgraded steering wheel and leather interior styling.
Engine and Performance
The 2014 Porsche Cayman GTS will have an improved powertrain that will boost its performance. It will be powered by a 3.4-liter flat-6 engine that will be able to develop 340 horsepower.
The engine will be mated to a standard six-speed manual transmission. Porsche active suspension management (PASM and dual-clutch (PDK) are optional.
This means a slightly faster 0-60 mph time. It will be able to reach the speed of 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds, or 4.3 seconds if equipped with Sport Chrono. Max speed will be 178 mph.
2015 Cayman GTS Release Date and Price
The redesigned 2014 Porsche Cayman GTS is scheduled to make its official debut in the first quarter of this year. It will probably be unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show this March or at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show in April.
We anticipate to see it in retail stores by the end of summer. Of course, it is too soon to talk about its pricing, but the expected starting price could be around $75,000 bucks. More details will follow closer to its launch date.
