The 2014 Factor Aurelio Prototype is a new Philippine-made supercar of unknown name. It borrows some elements from other supercars, like Ferrari or McLaren. And it was built by a four-men crew. Unbelievable!
2014 Factor Aurelio Prototype Design
This is just a prototype model and it is still in a development stage. Its body is very light, through the use of lightweight materials, such as carbon-fiber and fiberglass-reinforced plastic.
As you can notice from the photos, the 2014 Factor Aurelio Supercar Prototype looks like a hybrid of the Ferrari 458 Italia, McLaren P1 and Lamborghini Aventador.
Viewed from the front, this model is similar to the Ferrari 458, with only difference that its air intakes are positioned from the both sides of the bumper, just like on the Lamborghini Huracan or Aventador. It also has a sharp, Ferrari-like headlights.
The doors and side mirrors remind me of the old McLaren F1, although these scissor doors have larger dents and big air intakes behind the doors. The rear end of the car is similar to the rear end of the Lamborghini Aventador or older Murcielago. Notable details include the exhaust tip positioned in the middle, large air outlets, retractable rear spoiler, and a big rear window.
Interior – Speculations
There are no information nor photos of the car’s interior. However, we can see from the photos posted here that the 2014 Factor Aurelio Prototype is equipped with the racing seats. Given that this is a sports car, there is only room for two people — driver and co-driver. I can also assume that the cabin is trimmed in carbon-fiber materials.
What I don’t know if there will be any infotainment system, automatic climate control, GPS sat-nav, and other modern gadgets. We should wait for the official interior photos and specs to learn more details.
2014 Factor Aurelio Engine and Performance
Guys over at Factor Aurelio Automobile stated that they will use either a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder 4G63 engine by Mitsubishi delivering up to 457 horsepower, or a 1.6-liter four-cylinder B16A VTEC engine by Honda that will be able to boast more than 350 horsepower. Predicted maximum speed of the 2014 Factor Aurelio Prototype is 186 mph, however the acceleration figures are not known in this moment.
2014 Factor Aurelio Supercar Price
Like I already mentioned at the beginning of this article, the crew consists of only 4 people, led by a 21-year-old engineering student, and currently they can build 6-10 units per year. If you want to buy this vehicle, you can order it for 1.6 million Philippine pesos. This price may seem expensive to you, however if you convert it to the U.S. dollars you will get a price tag of $37,000. Mere 37 grand for a supercar that can reach speeds of 186 mph.
I’m not sure if they are ready to export the 2014 Factor Aurelio Supercar Prototype to the world, you probably should go to the Philippines to purchase your vehicle. So, what are you waiting for? :D
For the end, here are some additional photos of this Philippine prototype vehicle. These are higher-resolution images, however the quality isn’t the best.
