The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is a sports version of this model that is slightly modified from the original. It will hit retails stores in the second quarter of this year and will be available for… well, keep reading and find out how much will it cost.

Engine and Performance

First, I am going to say something about performance of the new 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, because this car is a beast.

It is powered by a heavily powerful 7.0-liter eight-cylinder V8 engine with sequential fuel injection that is able to produce a total of 505 horsepower and 481 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Just amazing!

With this engine it is able to reach a speed of 60 mph (~100 km/h) in just 3.8 seconds. Total speed of this sports model is 180 miles per hour (~290 km/h). It is one of the fastest Chevys on the market.

The powertrain is mated to a six-speed TR6060 manual transmission from Tremec.

Chevy Camaro Z/28 Exterior Design

It is not just a more powerful engine that contributes to the performance of this car. The automaker removed some pieces of technology (such as A/C) and made this model more aerodynamic in order to reduce the vehicle’s total weight (it now weights about 3837 lbs).

Seen from the front, you can notice that the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 now has a slightly thinner front grille and smaller headlights. You can also notice that there are no fog lights at all. However, there are some additions in the form of a large splitter on the bumper and an air vent on the hood.

There are new rocker panels on both sides, as well as fender flares over the 19-inch wheels wrapped in P Zero Trofeo R tires from Pirelli. These wheels will not only help to reduce the weight of the Z/28, but the car is also slightly lower than before.

As for the back, one can immediately notice the rear spoiler and one-piece taillights. I am not sure, but the trunk look kinda smaller. What can not be seen at first is that the rear window is now thinner. And there are two pairs of exhaust tips at the bottom.

On this page and in the gallery below, you can see some images of the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 models colored in summit white, ashen gray metallic, and hot red colors, but there is also a choice of black and silver ice metallic versions.

Interior Styling

Inside, there are also a lot of things missing in favor of the car’s weight. Interior is quite simple. I have already mentioned above that there is no air conditioner.

Also removed are all the speakers except one, soundproofing material, trunk carpet, pass-through, and the infotainment system has been replaced by a simple stereo device.

As for the seats and dashboard, the designers have used a microfiber materials with matte-metallic finish.

Several control buttons are on the steering wheel, and behind it there are two separated gauges, each in its own enclosure.
