The redesigned 2015 Lincoln Navigator was finally unveiled by the automaker. After several teaser images, now we get some real photos and official details on the new SUV, ahead of its debut at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show.
To begin with we will mention something about the car’s specification, before mention anything about its design.
Engine and Performance
Under the hood of the new 2015 Lincoln Navigator will be a brand-new 2015 3.5-liter six-cylinder twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine that will be able to produce 370 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. It will be more fuel efficient than the previous 5.4-liter V8 engine found in earlier models.
No word on whether the Navi will be offered with some other versions of the powertrain. This EcoBoost engine will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Gas mileage and fuel economy rating have not been announced, but we anticipate an improved ratings. The current model is rated at 13-14 mpg city and 18-20 mpg highway.
2015 Lincoln Navigator Design
Viewed from the outside, the new 2015 Lincoln Navigator is a bit like the Cadillac Escalade. Both vehicles have similar body design. No wonder, considering that the Escalade is Navi’s main competitor.
The front has been updated with a new split-wing grille, revised bumper, HID headlights and triple fog lights, as you can see in the picture above.
The rear of the car does not look anything special. Hoverer, we like the addition of a large taillight that stretches across the entire width of the rear door, above the inscription (photo below).
This luxury SUV will be offered in two trim levels — the base short-wheelbase model and the 2015 Lincoln Navigator L version with longer wheelbase. Both models will come with standard 20-inch aluminum wheels. Offered will be an optional Reserve Package with 22-inch polished aluminum wheels.
Inside, designers used soft materials, such as Walsdorf and Eagle Ottawa leather upholstery. The cabin looks really luxurious.
The dashboard has been updated with new center console with a big touchscreen display. It comes with installed MyLincoln Touch infotainment system. Another addition is the new four-spoke Walsdorf leather-wrapped steering wheel. Behind it is a push-button start and new digital instrument cluster.
The manufacturer will offer optional premium Reserve Package that will add Trevino leather upholstery on both seats and dashboard, with Ziricote wood trim. Further, this package will add chrome trim on the running boards.
